naturally aspen uses wood rich with natural striation and environmental effects from weather, fire, as well as biological help from animals.

Each piece of wood we use is unique. The trees grow above 8,000 feet and are subject to high winds and stress from snow-pack which beautifully contorts and bends the towering aspen. Other characteristics that makes each piece special include; elk chew, worm grooves, burls and scorch marks.

Our approach to home furnishings is organic. We think real living areas aren’t created, they’re grown. Each unique piece is created not just assembled. It’s harvested, dried and hand-sanded to a super-fine finish, exploiting the natural grain, curvature and color without the need of synthetic lacquers or stains. Pure Danish Oil is applied and hand-rubbed onto every piece to enhance the wood’s natural color and distinct characteristics and sent to you from 8,000 feet in the Rockies.

Our pieces are created by thinning and harvesting dead-standing and fallen aspen trees. Animal habitats are always taken into consideration before removing the logs.

We have been inventing and creating wood items for over ten years. Our passion is to utilize the abundance of dead wood cluttering up the local forests and to revalue it rather than turning it into firewood. Each timber is carefully selected with a specific piece of use in mind.
